BASIC CONCEPTS

IFIC Basic Concepts of Infection Control

The IFIC Basic Concepts of Infection Control is currently undergoing a full revision, with the updated edition planned for release in 2024/2025. Once published, it will be available exclusively to IFIC members through a password-protected section of the website. Updates on the release will be shared on the IFIC website and social media.

The most recent comprehensive edition (2016) builds on earlier versions by providing scientifically grounded, up-to-date guidance to support the development of local infection prevention and control policies worldwide. Each chapter was reviewed and updated by an international panel of experts, with new topics added to ensure a strong, practical knowledge base—particularly for regions where IPC programs are still emerging.

Previous editions (2011) are available in multiple languages, including Spanish, Italian, French, Hungarian, Arabic, and Bulgarian.
