Goals
Assist in the planning, implementing and evaluating strategies for the safe and appropriate use of injections in developing countries.
Improving access to safe injection technologies in developing countries ; Sterile, single use injection devices and safety disposal boxes must be available in every health care facility in sufficient quantities for the number of injections administered
Objectives
To provide a forum to:
Develop and maintain networks for sharing information, ideas and solutions to issues/problems of safe injection practices
Promote SIP Group candidates for relevant IFIC committees, positions and activities.
Provide a forum within IFIC to develop relevant projects and activities.
Advocate for continuing infection prevention and control education in the SIP Group area, and develop drafts of suitable materials.
Promote and support research in the SIP Group area.
Develop and maintain synergistic partnerships with stakeholders in other aspects of health care. This could include global health foundations and organizations, public health, long term care, or related fields.

To recommend ideas to ensure injection safety in different healthcare facilities
To provide access to references and guidelines
To develop relevant projects to be sponsored by IFIC strategic partners
To improve the outreach of injection safety activities to developing countries
To improve access by developing countries to safe injection technologies and equipment (AD Syringes, Syringes with a reuse prevention feature and safety Syringes)
To measure the impact of injection safety and integrated infection control activities at country level
To provide access to safe Sharps Management materials and its implementation at country level
To facilitate access to set of tools that support the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of national injection safety policies for preventive and curative services
