Web site

The IFIC web site (www.theIFIC.org) provides information about IFIC goals and activities and is a forum for networking with organizations, agencies and IFIC corporate sponsors.

The International Journal of Infection Control (IJIC) is published twice a year as an e journal. The aim of the journal is to publish articles, particularly from first time authors and help share best practice in infection control especially from low resource setting. The journal is freely accessible from its website, www.ijic.info. No fees are charged to authors and additional support in polishing the manuscript and grammatical improvements are available.

IFIC Basic Concepts in Infection Control is authored by experts on infection control. The previous two editions were published as Infection Control: Basic Concepts and Training.

The intent of the manual is to provide a scientific foundation for basic infection control principles mainly to countries with limited resources. The advantage of this document is that it is not connected to any country's legal regulations or traditions and therefore it transcends national boundaries. The previous editions have been translated into Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, French, Greek, Lithuanian, Persian, Spanish, Thai and Turkish languages.

A Basic Infection Control training programme has also been developed as a taught course whereas a distance learning module is being planned for the future. Twenty three PowerPoint presentations can be download form the IFIC Web site to allow infection control practitioners in low resource environments to establish effective basic training in infection prevention and control.
