Gayle K Gilmore
RN, MA, MIS, CIC
Gayle Gilmore is an Infection Control Consultant from Duluth, MN. As a nurse, she completed a hospital-based diploma program and later a baccalaureate and masters in nursing from the College of St Scholastica. She also has a masters degree in Industrial Safety and Hygiene from the University of Minnesota. She and her husband have 2 grown children and one wonderful granddaughter.
She worked for many years in infection control in an acute care hospital, later researched and wrote for ICAN, an internet infection control website, and currently works with a hospital telephone triage department. She has taught a wide variety of infection control courses in local, regional, and international markets. She has served her professional organization, APIC-Minnesota and the national APIC organization, in a variety of positions, including several terms on the Certification Board of Infection Control. Currently she is serving on the APIC Board.
She has been a liaison from APIC to NFID and has served on the Antimicrobial Resistance committees of NFID.
Her international infection control activities have included an ongoing relationship with Hungary, as well as educational activities in India, Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
She is looking forward to working with IFIC and collaborating to make a difference in our world.
